The ChannelOz privacy policy covers the collection and use of personal information that may be collected anytime you interact with ChannelOz, such as when you visit our website, when you purchase products, or when you call our sales or support associates. Please take a moment to read the following to learn more about our information practices, including what type of information is gathered, how the information is used and for what purposes, to whom we disclose the information, and how we safeguard your personal information. Your privacy is a priority, and we go to great lengths to protect it.

What information we collect

Personal Information

When you sign up to use our site, we will collect information from you about who you are and how we can best contact you. This is collected so a) we can contact you when we need to and b) so we know with whom our agreement is with regards to the terms and conditions of using this site and the media contained in it and made available through it. We don't record any information you're not prompted in relation to this sign up.

We will also record information when you use the contact us form. This is just to help us answer your query, but will remain on our systems indefinitely after this.

Credit Transaction Details

Every time you run a transaction to add credit to your account, we record the details provided during the transaction. In addition to the details you are prompted for, we also store the result which our merchant partner gives us (accepted/declined/etc) and the IP address making the transaction (so we can trace physically which machine was used to make the transaction). We will never attempt to trace this information, but law enforcement authorities may and we need to be able to provide that information to them if they request it through legal means.

Media Purchases

Each time you purchase a piece of media against your account, we log the transaction. This is filed indefinitely as our proof of your ownership of the media in question. This allows us to supply it to you again down the track should you lose it.

Site Trends and Logs

Each page view on the site is logged along with your IP address, the browser being used the operating system (e.g. OSX or Windows XP) along with a time stamp. We will regularly view summaries of activity on the site which is generated from these logs. While each page load may be traced back to a specific machine by IP address, we're not interested in doing that unless we're legally called on to do so. We simply look at summaries of all traffic to help us determine what people are looking at and what equipment they're using so we can make sure we're making it as easy as possible to get what you want - we are in this for business after all.

Cookies

As is standard practice on many corporate websites, ChannelOz uses "cookies" and other technologies to help us keep track of our users and to make using ChannelOZ more convenient (without cookies, you'd have to login every time you loaded a new page, not just once at the beginning!)

Who else sees this information

The only entity other than ChannelOZ who sees any of your information is our merchant facility who processes credit transactions on our behalf. All we pass to them is the information they need in order to perform the transaction - we won't tell them anything about you that isn't strictly related to this function. Because credit transactions are simply used to top up your account, they don't even know what you're buying. Being a financial institution, they operate under rules which are more closely monitored that the ones we're required to adhere to, so your details will be fine with them.

This data is always shared under Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) conditions which is a global standard in transaction security. Whenever you enter anything to do with your credit card, it will be under SSL conditions.

How we protect your information

ChannelOz takes precautions — including administrative, technical, and physical measures — to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

How you can help

Keep your account details to yourself and regularly (monthly or so), change your password. Don't use dictionary words for passwords and use a mixture of upper and lower case letters and numbers for best security.

ChannelOz has links to the sites of other companies. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to learn about the privacy policies of those companies.
